Hi friends and happy Fathers Day to all the amazing dads (and father figures) out there!
It’s been a long week in our home, especially for my dad, but no matter how busy or tired he is, he always finds the time to get outside with me and the little humans. Whether it’s a quick walk to the local dog friendly park, a stop at the ice cream shop, or exploring the trails in our Port Moody neighbourhood, he makes sure we get fresh air, movement, and a chance to reset together.
I’ve mentioned before how getting out in nature is one of the best ways to decompress. It’s wonderful for your mental health and it’s become a part of our family’s evening routine. After dinner we like to explore the creek and trails near our home. The path winds through tall trees, and the air always feels a little cooler there. Here the trail becomes my own forest playground. I love balancing on fallen logs and climbing over mossy tree trunks. A little splash of water on my paws is always refreshing but I prefer to hop from stone to stone. We listen to the birds settling in for the night, the soft rush of the creek, and the rustle of leaves as the breeze moves through the branches, a little time outside really calms everyone down before bedtime, even me.
I encourage you to get out today if you can too. It doesn’t have to be a big adventure, even a slow walk around the block can make a real difference. And to help inspire you I’ve got another Relax with Max video for you. I’m thinking of turning it into a whole series..what do you guys think?
