The Fifa World Cup is now in full swing, and what an exciting ride its been already! Have you guys been watching? I know I have! We haven’t been able to catch every match, but when we do there’s excitement and anxiety in my house, especially since Canada has been progressing so far.
Every Canada game day, our walks feel different. The whole neighbourhood seems to buzz. I see people showing their support with jerseys, hats, t‑shirts, and flags on cars and balconies. Even the little humans get dressed up in red and white. It’s like the whole community is walking together with the same heartbeat, hopeful, excited, and ready to cheer.
And how about that game against South Africa?! I could sense the tension in the air long before kickoff. As we walked around the neighbourhood, you could feel the mix of excitement and nerves coming from every house. Then, when Canada scored that winning goal… the reaction was instant. I heard cheering erupt from all directions, neighbours shouting, clapping, celebrating. It felt like the whole neighbourhood was united in one giant moment of joy.
Let’s keep the energy going! Let’s go Canada!
